Rupak Koirala


Masters and Bachelors in Environmental Management from Pokhara University. After working in wildlife conservation and climate change adaptation programs for five years he joined a largest Agricultural project of nation as Environment Specialist and serving more than 200 farmer cooperatives, farmer group and private entrepreneurs for Government of Nepal. He decided to establish CEAD with his colleagues and fellow alumni, delivering a conservation approach to livelihood improvement and development. His experience includes contracted research on biodiversity conservation, climate change, solid waste management and renewable energy with organizations such as: World Bank, SWMTSC, LIBIRD and AEPC and interned at UNDP, CSUWN, CEN, and JGI-Nepal.

Mahesh Sharma


Masters of Science in Sustainable Environmental Management from Middlesex University, London specializing in biodiversity conservation and climate change. For over 4 years, Mahesh worked for Roots and Shoots Nepal, as an environmental educator and wildlife conservationist in the Terrai region (southern plains). As a Campaign Coordinator in Animal Welfare Network Nepal, Mahesh led social mobilization campaigns, implemented multi-media marketing media outreach, and organized workshops for Constituent Assembly members. Mahesh has performed various private and contracted studies on animal welfare, zoonosis as well as water quality analysis for freshwater species conservation in Nepal and the U.K.

SMITA GHIMIRE


Ms Smita Ghimire holds a Master’s in Environmental Management from SchEMS College, Kathmandu, Nepal. Currently, she is working as a SSA supporting the Asia Pacific Mountain Network (APMN) in underpinning ICIMOD’s youth engagement in Sustainable Development Programme (Y4SMD). Before joining ICIMOD as an intern she worked as Program Assistant and as Youth Leader in the Youth Initiative Nepal for 2 years. She is a trained International Project Manager in Denmark by Danish Youth Council (DUF). After this course she was involved in facilitating, evaluating, and monitoring the 20 mini projects in Dang and Dhangadhi, Nepal. She has also volunteered in a number of environmental projects supported by WWF and CEN Nepal.

Navin Dahal


Masters and Bachelors of Science in Environment Management from Pokhara University. He contemplates that professional excellence is gained based on the contribution for better environment management by meeting the development goals through effective project planning & implementing the pragmatic approach to deal with the forthcoming challenges by taking a leadership role and being an effective team worker. His experience includes Data Analyst in “Urban WASH Preparedness and Community Based Disaster Risk Reduction” Project, Worked as project Supervisor and Officer in Poverty Reduction of Informal Worker in Solid Waste Management Sector (PRISM Project) and is currently working as Assistant Research Fellow in Nepal Academy of Science and Technology (NAST).

Roshan Kumar Yadav


Mr. Yadav is young development advocate, born and grew in eastern terai plain from a humble agriculture background family. He is recipient of Government of India scholarship for his further education in India. He completed Msc. in Biotechnology from Banglore University and he was the only student from 900-odd Msc. in Biotechnoloigy students of BU who was granted a project at the Molecular Bio- Physics unit at the Indian Institute of Science (IIS). Besides that, he also did internship in All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIMS), New Delhi and currently he is serving as a Fellow at Nepal Academy of science and Technology (NAST) and also as a Faculty Member at Central Department of Biotechnology, Tribhuwan University.

Vicky Koirala


Masters in Environmental Management, Mr. Vicky Koirala has worked as a Consultant in SEID (Sustainable and Efficient Industrial Development in Nepal and Bhutan), a project of European Union. He has performed well in volunteer mobilizing, conducting events and programs in several organizations related to climate change, wildlife conservation, youth engagement, disaster risk management and rural energy. Presently Mr. Koirala is working as Monitoring and Evaluation Officer in Environment Friendly Local Governance Program (EFLGP) program in Kamalamai Municipality, Sindhuli.

Manjil Sherchan


He has graduated in M.Sc in Climate Change from University of East Anglia, United Kingdom. At present, he is entitled as "Climate Change Adaptation Specialist" in a adaptation project of Multi Stakeholder Forestry Program being implemented in six districts of Nepal. Also, he has experience on disaster risk management like installing wireless early warning system, community based disaster preparedness and management. Before, he was working as "Climate Change Officer" in LI-BIRD (Local Initiatives for Biodiversity, Research and Development, Pokhara) for one and half year. He have supported many local government like DDC and VDC in developing climate change policies and plans i.e. district climate change fund guideline and strengthen the stakeholders in the districts.

Sikha Karki


Completed Masters in Biodiverity and Environment Management (University of Bergen, Norway and Tribhuvan University, Nepal), Bsc. (Hons.) Environmental Science from Kathmandu University. She is a stronger believer of the statement: changes begins from one and thinks that we should start environmental friendly behavior by ourselves to help preserve this earth and its resources. Her experience includes Research Assistant at Aquatic Ecology Centre and is currently working as Monitoring and Evaluation officer at Besishahar Municipality, Lamjung under Environment Friendly Local Governance Programme.

Chanda Prajapati


She has Masters in Biodiverity and Environment Management jointly from University of Bergen, Norway and Tribhuvan University, Nepal. She completed her bachelor's in Environmental Science from Kathmandu University. She had worked in several programs related to climate change and renewable energy. She served as Research Officer in Food First Information & Action Network (FIAN Nepal) upon Climate change and Right to Food. Prior to joining FIAN Nepal She has worked as a Research Assistant at Renewable Nepal in a research Program funded by NORAD in collaboration with Kathmandu University and SINTEF Energy Research (SEfas) for more than a year. Currently she is working as Monitoring and Evaluation officer at Lekhnath Municipality, Kaski under Environment Friendly Local Governance Program.

Rajesh Khadka


With the aim to contribute to better environment management and to achieve the forthcoming challenging targets by taking a leadership role in National, Regional and Global level, Rajesh has been working for more than five years in integrated community development, environmental management and community mobilization. He started his career with Green. Society Nepal in late 2007 in the position of Vice President and then has worked for several organizations for short-term. Since 2009 he is working as a Programme coordinator in an NGO called Peace Nepal Environment Society and leading a project called ‘1 house 1 Tree’. Then he worked in the Jane Goodall Institute Nepal for Dolphin Conservation project as a Project Officer for about a year. Meanwhile he is working as a monitoring and documentation officer for Mukti Project (a project of Care Nepal). He has completed M. Sc in Environmental Management from School of Environment Science and Management under Pokhara University, Nepal in 2013.
